Edwin Kla Martin is facing resistance from CDC Secretary General Jefferson Koijee and other officials under U.S. sanctions for corruption and human rights abuses.
Koijee has threatened to resist asset recovery efforts. Still, Martin has warned him against unlawful acts, affirming the government’s determination to prosecute corrupt officials and compel restitution of stolen funds. Martin emphasizes that no one is above the law, and the government will use legal processes to ensure accountability.
Despite threats, Martin remains resolute, vowing to carry out their mandate transparently and by the law. He stresses that their actions will be executed through proper legal channels, with the assistance of the Liberia National Police, to ensure accountability and restitution for the Liberian people.
